Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
• Steve Maher takes a closer look at incoming recruit, 6'7" 230lb. Cody Carriger from Butte, MT.

If the Ducks were looking for a kid who embodies toughness and grit and hard work, they probably could not have gone to a better place than the nation’s old mining capital, where the residents still pride themselves on the rough-and-tumble....This is no prima donna heading to Eugene.

“Cody has a great frame, but he’s one of the hardest working kids I’ve ever been around,” said Butte High School coach Arie Grey. “He’s always looking to make himself a better person and player. He has tremendous tools, and his work ethic will make him a very good player.

“The thing about Cody is he does whatever we ask him to,” Grey went on. “One week he’s at end, then he plays linebacker and then tight end.” (check out the complete article here)

Rob Moseley has a couple of news items regarding football. Cliff Harris received his invite to the NFL combine and the Spring Game will be held on April 28th. Rob surmises that spring practice will begin on or around April 3rd.

ATQ has a good piece on the 2012 recruiting class and why you should be excited.

What is exciting about Oregon's last two classes is that they are now combining elite level recruits with elite level coaching.

Oregon is knocking on the door and recruiting players that are not only highly regarded by pundits, but who also fit their scheme perfectly.

Chip is getting the fastest players, and that must be a immerse to every other coach out there.
