Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
Dale Newton introduces the recruits that will be filtering onto campus during the couple of weeks as he welcomes the class of 2011.

This week, 22 mothers will say good-bye to their sons, entrusting them to our care as a community.  The members of the 2011 Oregon recruiting class are about to officially become Ducks, committing themselves to a five-year adventure, the opportunity to test themselves against the best college athletes in the world, in the most difficult and violent game in the world.

Dale Newton will have a recruiting story for each of the 22 recruits and starts off with WR Devon Blackmon.

Blackmon oozes talent and confidence, with an infectious, outgoing personality.  He tweeted a storm to Duck fans during his recruitment, flashing a wide, happy smile wherever he went.

Next up from Dale Newton on his 2011 recruit profile stories is RB Tra Carson.

Here's the first thing you need to know about Tra Carson:  he went to Liberty-Eylau High School, and replaced LaMichael James as the starting tailback.

He broke LMJ's school record, 54 touchdowns as the Leopard's mainstay, falling just 35 yards short of the career rushing record, finishing with 4,185 yards.

GO DUCKS!

Our depth at running back is staggering. Seriously, I don't think Lache has a chance of playing unless he does something very special...you have to go out and impress, or somebody else will just take that spot away from you.
