Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
Rachael Bachman reports that the NCAA released their APR scores for Division 1 schools and the Oregon football team scored a 941 which was a 1 point drop from last year's 942, which was their best score ever.

• Yahoo contributor, Daryle W. Hier, confirms what we already know, Autzen Stadium is the loudest venue in the Pac-12 and the toughest place to play if you are a visitor.

• Dale Newton gives his reasons the Cowboy Classic (Oregon vs LSU) will be different than the Boise St. debacle.

For one thing, team leaders like Terrell Turner, David Paulson and John Boyett were there that night.  They remember the cost of not being prepared.  This Duck team is seasoned by many big games, successful and not.  They've faced down USC twice since then.  They bested Stanford on national TV after trailing 21-3.  This is a team that doesn't get rattled and doesn't panic.  Led by Darron Thomas and LaMichael James, this is a quicker and more versatile offense.  The Tigers won't be able to jam the line like BSU did.  Thomas is a vastly better passer than Masoli, and reacts better when things aren't going well.  Tennessee and Stanford are two shining examples, and the experience of starting poorly in Glendale and recovering to have a very solid game, will steady him in this one.  Facing LSU isn't anything they haven't handled before.

GO DUCKS!
