Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
Darren Everson at the Wall St. Journal makes the case for adding Oregon's name to the Hall of Geniuses in describing the Oregon football program.

Every now and then in sports, some team will come up with a better way. Now that spring practice season has wrapped across college football, it's becoming increasingly clear that there may be another team on the verge of reaching this pantheon of all-time creative geniuses. It's the Oregon Ducks.

Ted Miller lists his top seven returning sackmen in the Pac-12 and doesn't have any Ducks in his list due to graduation but does have DE Dion Jordan in the "who to watch for" section.

Rob Moseley reports that the new TV deal doesn't mean Oregon will go on a spending spree but rather it will likely use the windfall to stabilize the athletic budget.

Who has the best football and basketball programs? Oregon comes in at number eleven on the combined list and fourteenth for the football only portion.

Aaron Fentress reports that several publication have CB Cliff Harris going in the first round of the 2012 NFL draft.

Too early to talk 2012 NFL Draft? Nonsense.

What's a draft without months of projections and guesswork for the sake of entertainment?

And when it comes to Oregon cornerback Cliff Harris, the guesses are extremely promising.

Sure, it's all conjecture at this point - guessing what order teams will pick is an extreme stretch  - but clearly those who project such things for a living think highly of Harris, who will be a junior next season.
