Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
Ken Woody breaks down the Spring Game and says the Ducks are not quite ready for prime time but there where bright spots.

The defense looked good, real good. They are deep and showed no falloff for having been divided up into two teams. Michael Clay looks to be the real deal at linebacker, mixing physical athleticism with speed, which Oregon linebackers have lacked at times in the past.

Another bright spot at the Spring Game was LB Kiko Alonso. Too bad he will more than likely be dismissed from the team for his second arrest, this time on burglary charges.

Two former Ducks, Jeff Maehl and Brandon Bair, went undrafted in the NFL and Rivals lists them as some of the best undrafted players.

Dale Newton says that the receiver position may be a questions mark but the Ducks have several answers.

Lavasier Tuinei needs to work on his routes.  He missed connections with DT twice, once on a post route and the other on a post-corner.  Got to make those breaks sharp and consistent.  They'll work on that.

Colt Lyerla looks like a keeper, making three catches in traffic.  Eric Dungy showed up nicely with a couple of possession grabs.  He helped himself Saturday.
