Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
Rob Moseley, John Hunt and Chris Courtney have your Thursday practice report.

Rob: Darron Thomas and David Paulson proved a dangerous combination for the offense in 11-on-11 drills, hooking up a number of times, and Josh Huff made an acrobatic, leaping catch of a Thomas pass.

Lavasier Tuinei broke free for a long "touchdown" reception down one sideline, and Thomas scrambled for a long gain just moments after Bennett had done the same. Eddie Pleasant and Boseko Lokombo came up with interceptions during team situations.

John: Backup quarterback Bryan Bennett threw an interception to Boseko Lokombo, who regularly makes big plays in practice.

Bennett also threw beautiful balls on a deep out to Curtis White and to Colt Lyerla (a drop) and over the middle - with perfect touch over Dior Mathis - to Nick Cole for a score.

Chris: Coming off a somewhat rocky first day of spring practice, junior quarterback Darron Thomas was on-point and very sharp for much of the day; completing passes for big gains to favored targets such as Lavasier Tuinei, Josh Huff, and David Paulson. Aside from a pass that was deflected by Michael Clay and intercepted by Eddie Pleasant.

John Hunt takes a closer look at how Colt LyerlaKarrington Armstrong and Hroniss Grasu are performing at practice.

Rob Moseley lists the depth chart, as close as he can make it out.

Bob Rickert has your random recruit of the week, OL Paul Thurston from Arvada, Co.

Guest columnist "FishDuck" has a special, and detailed look, on a new formation he calls the Shotgun Wishbone. Get out your chalkboard and expect a lot of X's and O's.
