Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
• The long awaited rumors are now coming out in the open, Oregon paid for recruiting services, like many other schools. The bigger question is; did anyone get steered to Oregon because of the payments?

Oregon denies any wrongdoing and is adamant that no NCAA rules were broken.

Apparently the NCAA will be in town today and will start asking questions.

There are a ton of stories about this but I will only provide links to a few of them. If you are looking for JC's negativity and hyperbole you won't find it here.

Here is the statement released by the Oregon Athletic Department.

Rob Moseley's story.

Dennis Dodd's report.

Ted Miller provides his take.

Dale Newton does a good job with his write-up.

Let's hope that Oregon's part in this story is indeed "within the guidelines" but it is a definite grey area. The NCAA might need to strengthen the rules concerning street agents, 7 on 7 mini-camps, specialized clinics and the like, to preserve the integrity of collegiate football.
