Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Morning Mud
The Sporting News has Oregon at number three in the nation heading into spring practice just behind LSU and Alabama.

The Pac-12 has decided not to renew the contracts of 11 members of  their football officiating crew after a major shakeup by Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott.

Former Portland TV and radio personality Colin Cowherd said on ESPN radio that "a major program in this country is going to be outed very soon for major recruiting violations." Rumor has it he is talking about Oregon but take it with a grain of salt.

In other earth shattering news, NCAA president Mark Emmert said he would be glad to help create a playoff format to decide a national champion.

You're not likely to see any sort of playoff system in the foreseeable future in my opinion. There are just too many corporate sponsors in the current bowl system who would be dead set against it. Money talks.
