Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Is it possible there is an Oregon connection to Pac-10 commissioner Larry Scott's hiring and then seeing him jet around the Midwest trying to finalize a historic 16 team mega conference? John Canzano lays it all out in this story and it is a really good read, check it out.

As the Big 12 teeters on the precipice of extinction, Missouri is making a last ditch effort to keep the remaining 10 teams unified. Needless to say, too little, too late (IMO)...

Now that we are getting closer to finalize all the deal making this Arizona Daily Star story lays out the new look Pac-10/12/16. It definitely won't be your father's Pac-10.

"This is the dawning of a new day for the Pac-10," [Larry] Scott said after adding Colorado. "There's a lot of excitement and enthusiasm about our prospects going forward, including with the addition of new members."

Scott says he wants a name that will "reflect the membership," and if the other conference leaders agree, that means both the "Pac" and the "10" will go.

But whatever happens, the Pac-10 will never be the same in name, structure or culture.

GO DUCKS!

I think we should name our conference the "Phat 15, Plus the Beavers."
