Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Junior TE David Paulson, who is majoring in business administration, was a guest poster on the CNBC Sports Biz blog yesterday and writes on the marketing of college players.

He wonders if the NCAA should always own a college players rights, even after they graduate?

Well written piece, you should check it out.

Rob Moseley pours over the numbers from the off-season conditioning program that come from the U of O strength coach, Jim Radcliffe. Here are some numbers that caught me eye.

The Ducks also measure players “at speed,” over 30 yards with a running start. Tops on the roster this year was senior receiver Jeff Maehl  at 2.84 seconds, followed by cornerbacks Anthony Gildon and Scott Grady at 2.91 seconds. Gildon also posted a record-setting vertical jump of 38 inches this winter.

No wonder Maehl has that knack of finding the open spot.

GO DUCKS!

Yeah, that's an interesting stat, and way of looking at speed. Word.
