• Andy Mac reports that Len Casanova's 1958 Rose Bowl ring has made it into space along with the crew of the Space Shuttle Discovery.
Commander on the journey is Eugene native Col. James Dutton Jr.
Dutton, a Sheldon High School graduate and UO football fan, brought the ring with him to honor his late grandfather, Charlie Harvey, who was a big fan of Cas and the Ducks.
Upon its return from orbit, the Rose Bowl ring will be incorporated into the Len Casanova display at the athletic department headquarters named for the late football coach and athletic director.
