Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Rob Moseley reports on yesterday's practice and says the defense won the competition day earning them the right to wear black jerseys until the next competition day.

Among the big plays were Kenny Rowe dropping back into coverage to intercept Costa, Dior Mathis picking off a Daryle Hawkins  pass, Cliff Harris beating Diante Jackson in a battle for a ball, Bo Lokombo coming off the edge and leaping to deflect a Costa pass, and James Scales leaping to break up a pass from Costa to Justin Hoffman.

John Hunt also recaps yesterday's action and came away impressed with the tight ends.

The two tight-end sets, with [David] Paulson and junior college transfer Brandon Williams, look potent. Paulson has the hands and Williams has the burst to get by most any linebacker.

Hunt also has a story that echoes what others have said recently, LaMichael James is a step quicker this year.

I'm really looking forward to the Spring Game on May 1st, should be exciting.
