Duck Stuff: Morning Mud

Rob Moseley covers the action down at the Moshofsky Center yesterday and has all the details here. Moseley was impressed with the play of JC transfer TE Brandon Williams.

When the ball’s snapped, there’s no doubting Williams is a special athlete. He had a couple of nice catches near the sideline that impressed last year’s starter, Ed Dickson, who was in attendance. And while the team wasn’t in pads and so not at full speed at the line of scrimmage, Williams put linebacker Bo Lokombo on his back blocking for a pass play.

Chris Courtney has a detailed report on practice yesterday and thinks LaMichael James looks even faster than last year.

James made his spring debut in grand style; ripping off signature big play runs and demonstrating unparalleled elusiveness with the ball in his hands. As crazy as it may sound, James seems quicker entering this season. He seems to hit open holes with greater confidence; appearing efficient and quick in making a decision of where to go once he receives the handoff. Oregon head coach Chip Kelly was similarly impressed with James' effort today.

"He's really fast running around making plays," said Kelly, "He's got a great grasp."

James faster than last year? Didn't think that could happen. Word.
