When asked if he considered putting in Justin Roper during the UCLA game he quickly came back with "no." He stated that UCLA was keying in on making the quarterback beat them and he felt that Masoli was better suited to do that as Roper has limited mobility.
“This is maybe one of the most-needed byes in a long time,” Bellotti said of his team’s open date this Saturday. “Playing seven straight weeks at this level of competition has become a tough thing to do.” But he has been pleased with their attitude.
“In terms of our character and willingness to fight and scrap, that’s been tremendous,” Bellotti said. “The character of this team I don’t question. We just have to get better at consistency of performance, and the first thing is to get healthy this week.”
