Oregon Ducks: News of the Day

Justin Thompson is reported to be heading to Eugene no later than this weekend. He is the JC transfer defensive tackle from a SoCal community college. He had transcript issues for some of his classes but they have been cleared up. This is good news for the defense if he is in shape and learns the playbook quickly.

In the weekly Pac-10 conference call, Oregon coach Mike Bellotti revealed that he would like to get backup QB Jeremiah Masoli some playing time this week in at least one series. He also stated that JC transfer Ellis Krout has been suspended for the game for breaking team rules. Filling in for him this week will be true freshman receiver Garrett Embry.

Andy McNamara has a fun Q&A with former Duck and now Carolina Panther Geoff Schwartz, check it out.

The guys over at Addicted to Quack are running a series of videos this week about memorable moments in the long running series with the Huskies.

Allison Ross lands a Q&A with the infamous (The Pick) Kenny Wheaton on her blog, very entertaining stuff.
