Dennis Dixon hooked up with Garren Strong on a few pass plays but was pushed out of the pocket by a relentless Green defense and did more scrambling than anything. Jeremiah Johnson and Andiel Brown had some nice gainers for the White but they just couldn't put it all together to get in the end zone for a TD, so it's hamburger for the White Team tonight.
No major injuries to report of, which is always on the coaches mind during the spring game. We couldn't have asked for nicer weather. Other than some puffy clouds and a breeze it was a beautiful day with the temperature in the mid 60's.
Only 125 days until the real season begins at home against Houston on September 1st.

Dennis Dixon completed a five-yard scoring pass to Jaison Williams on the first possession for the first string. Brian Paysinger took a pitch and ran 41 yards for a touchdown, Andiel Brown ran for a 29-yard score and Nathan Costa threw a pretty 25-yard touchdown pass to Rory Cavaille.
Oregon’s defense was slow early on but rallied late, keeping the offense off the scoreboard for three straight attempts at two-point conversions. Reserve end Brandon Bair led the unit with seven tackles, his second straight solid scrimmage.
Punter Josh Syria also had a strong day.

By homering for the third straight game, Rodriguez increased his major league-leading totals to 10 homers and 25 RBIs.
The Yankees (8-6) are two games over .500 for the first time this season heading into their weekend series at Boston. "We needed this win going to Boston," Rodriguez said. "Every game in Boston is a war."

The offensive line Saturday was without all five starters from last fall due to graduation and injuries, allowing reserve ends Will Tukuafu and Brandon Bair to lead the day in tackles.
Bellotti said middle linebacker John Bacon, cornerbacks Jairus Byrd and Walter Thurmond III, tight end Ed Dickson and offensive tackle Bo Thran stood out on film.
Of course, the defense is benefiting from not having to learn a new system, so it is to be expected that they would be playing better than the offense at this point.
Five Oregon quarterbacks combined to connect on seven of 24 passes for 81 yards, with more than half of that yardage coming on a 45-yard completion from Dennis Dixon to Jaison Williams.
Dixon completed two of six passes for 49 yards but added 41 rushing yards on four carries.
But the majority of the 68-play scrimmage was all about the defense.

Harrington and Falcons quarterbacks coach Bill Musgrave each are former stars at the University of Oregon, and Harrington's relationship with Musgrave played a role in his decision to sign with Atlanta.
Harrington will have the most experience of a growing list of candidates competing to replace Matt Schaub, Vick's backup the past three seasons. Schaub was traded to Houston, where he will be the starter.
Harrington is expected to participate in a three-day minicamp that begins today.

Spring drills began yesterday and coach Bellotti said "I think we got a lot done, it was a very energetic, very active practice."
Quarterback Dennis Dixon, who worked with the first-team offense most of the afternoon, called it "probably one of the toughest practices we've had. It was up-tempo, a fast tempo, every session."
Jonathan Stewart (pictured) got his reps under new offensive coordinator Chip Kelly. Everyone on offense was trying to get used to the new terminology between what Oregon has done in the past and what Kelly uses. "He's a guru, on and off the field," Dixon said. "He wants everything to be perfect."
Bellotti called the workout a "very energetic, very active practice," something he hoped for after a 7-6 season in 2006 during which he felt the team's focus had a tendency to wander.
Willie Glasper, a cornerback who played with Jackie Bates in both high school and college, confirmed Tuesday that Bates is planning to transfer from Oregon which isn't surprising after Bates was suspended for most of last season.
