Oregon vs Michigan Preview

Now that I had my fun with the Michigan uni post it is time to get real. Oregon goes to the big house tomorrow to take on the Wolverines (8 1/2 point favorites). After last weeks meltdown, expect Michigan to have a huge chip on their collective shoulders, and don't forget, the last time the 2 teams met (in Eugene), the Ducks prevailed.

After allowing 315 yards in rushing against Houston last week, the Ducks will need to shore up their defense. Mike Hart was one of Michigan's lone bright spots in last week's loss to I-AA Appalachian State, carrying the ball 23 times for 188 yards and three touchdowns. His power running style has made him one of the premier tailbacks in the nation and he is a possible Heisman hopeful.

If Oregon can contain the run, pressure the QB, and come out on top in the turnover category, the Ducks will give the Wolverines a run for their money. Offensively, Oregon needs to mix it up, give Dixon better protection, throw a few more passes than last week, and let the Stewart-Johnson act do their thing.

Personally, I think Dixon will give the Michigan D fits. He just needs to remain focused and poised and take what the defense gives him. It should be an entertaining matchup.

Prediction: Oregon 38 - Michigan 35
