Oregon 58 - Miami of Ohio 56
To close for comfort. Oregon (3) pulled off their 1st Round win over Miami of Ohio (14), but just barely. Aaron Brooks was the top scorer for the Ducks with 18 points.
With 5 minutes left, Oregon had a comfortable 11 point lead, 54-43. Unfortunately they didn't score for the next 4:38, letting the Redhawks close the gap to 54-53.
Brooks made 2 free throws with 22 seconds left and then Maarty Leunen capped the Ducks scoring with 2 more free throws with 2 seconds left.
Oregon will need to step it up when they play Winthrop in the 2nd Round on Sunday. Winthrop (11) had their way with a big win over Notre Dame (6) earlier today.
Update: Oregon (3) vs Winthrop (11) - Sunday 11:50 AM PDT on CBS
