Aaron Brooks banked a shot over two defenders with 2 seconds left to give Oregon (No. 17 ESPN/USA Today; No. 15 AP) a 79-77 victory over Arizona (No. 8 ESPN/USA Today; No. 10 AP) on Sunday night.
Brooks finished with 21 points to lead the Ducks (16-1, 4-1 Pac-10) to their second victory over a Top 10 team in eight days. Oregon beat then-No. 1 UCLA on Jan. 6.
Bryce Taylor also scored 21 points for Oregon, and Maarty Leunen had 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Brooks took control of the game with 3 minutes left and the Ducks trailing by 5. The defense allowed no points in those closing minutes. Bryce Taylor made 2 free throws with 2:40 left and then Brooks nailed a 3-pointer to tie it 77 with 1:50 to play.
