Mom & Dad's Great Britain Cruise

My folks just got back this last Thursday from a 2 week trip through the British Isles. This photo is of Big Ben taken from a pod on the London Eye ride. All 118 phots are available at my Flickr site.

The Shortreed Family

Hi, just a quick note from Erika. Kim, Connie, Angie, Emma, Tyler (her kids), Erika, Bill (my husband), Billy and Grace (my kids). We are all at Carolyn and Joe's house for breakfast this morning and I wanted to say hello. Mike, I could not read your e-mail address on your note, but I have it now! I will e-mail you some photos and I hope you will e-mail the pix you were talking about. I ran the San Diego Rock n Roll marathon on June 4th. I'm sending out something soon. I hope you are well and I will e-mail soon.
Love, Erika

Bellotti rips changes laid down by NCAA...

For the complete article go to the Yahoo NCAA Football website.

For whom the 'Bell' tolls
University of Oregon head coach Mike Bellotti is not happy about the newly instituted rule changes designed to speed up the game.

Following a change of possession, the game clock will now start when the referee signals ready for play – not when the ball is snapped. In another switch, the clock will start when the ball is kicked on kickoffs. Previoulsy the clock didn't start until the receiving team touched the ball.

Bellotti used the media day stage to voice his displeasure regarding the new rules.

"I don't think from the fan standpoint the game is too long. I don't think cutting five to 10 to 15 minutes out of it is going to make a difference," he said. "As a coach, I am appalled at the rule changes. They are major and very severe and they are going to change the game as we know it, especially in starting the game clock after a change of possession. That changes a lot of strategies. I'm disappointed. I can't find anyone who is in favor of that. I hope it's overturned next year."

Char's 50th

Just wanted to thank everyone who made Char's 50th Birthday Party so special for her. She had a fabulous time! Of course I took a few photos, mostly of kids (my bad for not getting more of the birthday girl) and you can see them at Flickr. Of course the youngest, Noah, got more attention than anyone. Char wanted to give Max a special thank you for "The Tile" he made for her.

Church Camp

Hey everybody! I got back from church camp on Sunday and it was 1 of the best weeks I've ever had. It was awesome! We had a night game almost every night it was fun. The only bad part was that I messed up my knee. I went running up a path when we were playing Red China in the dark (Red China is when you have a fake bible and you have to put it in a fake church without getting caught) I didn't see a rock and tripped over it and hit my knee on the rock. It peeled part of my skin back. So it's dark out and I look at it and I thought it was my bone poking out so I'm freaking out yelling. My friend next to me went running for help but other than that it was extremely fun. Our guest speaker Ben was really fun and funny. So my week was awesome but now I'm home and I'm extremely tired so I'm gonna go take a nap.

Peace out,

Noah's Party

We all had a great time at Bob & Jackie's place for the "Meet Noah" party. The star of the show pretty much slept the whole time and got passed from one should to the next while he slept. You can check out all the photos at Flickr!

Tour De France

For 2 days now Floyd "The Man" Landis has worn the yellow jersey. The Tour De France can be seen all day long on OLN Network if anyone wants to check it out. I've been riding for about a year now and I'm completly hooked. I put about 75 miles a week on my two wheels. I recommend riding for everyone!

My Camp

Sup peeps. I am going to a church camp with all my friends and I'm pretty psyched about it. I think the highlight is going to be the paintball sessions. I get 200 paintballs and all the gear. It's gonna be a pretty great time but my mom is less than psyched that I'm gonna be away from her for a week. I get back on Saturday and will be fairly exhausted but happy.

Talk to all of ya later!!

Multnomah Falls...

We went for a little hike today. It was about a 6 mile hike that started at Multnomah Falls and finished at Wahkeena Falls. As you can see by the first pic of I84 the elevation climb was pretty serious. The hike took us about 3 1/2 hours and was a ton of fun. We figured it was about a 1000 ft climb.

Back From Frisco

Hi Kids,

Well, I just got back from San Fran, and I wanted to post a few pictures. I tried my hand at some artistic pictures of buildings...and had some fun working with some in iPhoto. We had a great time, except for a little diesel in my gas tank. Otherwise, all was good. Have a great day!

Love, Dave
