Dye was was also the series MVP.EUGENE - Surgery to repair the fractured left ankle of University of Oregon senior quarterback Kellen Clemens was considered a success following the 90-minute procedure performed at Sacred Heart Medical Center Monday morning, according the Ducks' Team Physician Dr. Bob Crist.
Crist said the surgery consisted of inserting a screw toward the top of the ankle to pull the fibula and tibia together as well as attaching a metal plate to aid the healing process of a spiral fracture in the fibula.
Doctors estimate that Clemens' rehabilitation could extend between three and six months however a full recovery is expected.
He is expected to remain in the hospital overnight, however the family has requested that visitors refrain from attempting to see him in the hospital.
The Ducks defense stepped up bigtime as Kellen Clemens went down late in the third quarter after a hard sack. Coach Bellotti says there is a slight chance that Clemens could return for a Bowl game. Clemens will go in for surgery today on his broken ankle.
